“Welcome Back Boston!” Open House
Saturday, September 28, 6-8pm
330 Newbury St, Boston, MA 02115
We’ve been sharing throughout the week about our Open House tomorrow – free wine & beer samples, snacks, and huge discounts on the stuff we’re tasting. It’s our way of welcoming old and new friends back to the store this fall (and an excuse to pour some samples for you!) Here are the details:
2013 Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand)
As a 2013 vintage, this one is fresh off the boat with broader, richer flavors than older Sauv Blancs. The nose has aromas of tropical fruit accented by fresh herbs. Mouthwatering acidity and a lengthy finish make this a nicely rounded wine. Serve with shellfish and goat cheese salad.
2011 Black Stallion Chardonnay (Napa Valley)
This one is all about balance. Aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and hazelnut rise out of the glass, leading to a rich yet restrained palate. Creamy apple, butter, and oak come together nicely without being overpowering. Serve with roast turkey or pork tenderloin.
2010 Parallele 45 Cotes du Rhone
Jaboulet Parallèle 45 has built the reputation of the Rhône as producing the greatest values in fine French wine. The Cotes du Rhone is a 60% Grenache, 40% Syrah blend which offers the best of each grape. The Grenache offers bright cherry, cranberry, and cassis, while the Syrah lends a savory spice to the palate. Serve with a rack of ribs or blue cheese burger.
2009 El Coto de Rioja Crianza
El Coto Crianza is one of the bestselling Riojas in the world, and for good reason. Aromas of Spanish leather and cherry pop out of the glass. The palate has delicious acidity and is layered with raspberry, cherry, leather, and oak in a classic modern Rioja fashion. Serve with lamb kebabs and couscous.

Nebraska ‘Hop God’
A big, bold Belgian-style Tripel hopped in very high amounts to concentrate citrus, grapefruit and floral aromas. The addition of Chardonnay barrel aging adds further dimension and oak tannins to an already complex ale.
Bruery ‘Sour in The Rye’
An ale brewed with around 40% rye as a base malt. Sour yeast and bacteria eat away at it in oak barrels for over a year creating a sour ale with a complex character of rye spice, oak and a subtle funk.
This medium-bodied amber ale combines a touch of malty sweetness with a subtle aromatic hop character. A traditional German-style Oktoberfest – one of our favorite made in America!
Uinta ‘Sea Legs’ (Crooked Line)
A complex and drinkable Baltic Porter, Sea Legs delivers flavors of roasted malt and chocolate. The beer is aged in bourbon barrels for nearly 12 months, adding toasted vanilla and bourbon notes to the flavor profile. This medium-bodied Baltic Porter has a complex malt profile and mild hop bitterness.
Huge discounts on all of the beers we’re tasting!
We’re excited and have been working hard to find some new and unique things for you to try – hope you’ll stop by!
