2007 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

“A rich, dense, concentrated style, this is full-bodied, focused and pure, with hints of mocha and black licorice rounding out the core currant, plum and black cherry flavors. Focused and persistent, with a long finish.” -James Laube, 94 Points Wine Spectator Insider, March, 2010

Reg: $49.99   Sale $39.99

2008 Montes Cabernet Sauvignon

“Limited Release” (Chile)

Aurelio Montes and partner Douglas Murray founded Montes winery in 1987, with borrowed money, believing that Chile could produce world-class wines. Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon became the first ever premium Chilean export wine! This Cab is enhanced by blending 30% of Montes Alpha Cabernet thus producing a more lush and complex Cab. Nuances of cassis, strawberry, with combined hints of black cherries, rich chocolate and just a touch of oak to round things out.

2007 Guenoc Petite Sirah (Lake County)

Guenoc Valley lies sixty miles north of San Francisco – a breathtaking panorama of oakstrewn grasslands, rolling green hills, craggy outcroppings and perfect volcanic cinder cones. The Langtry Estate is one of the largest contiguous private land holdings in California, and among the most beautiful. Intense aromas of red raspberry, licorice and baked blueberries. The wine has a medium body with melt in your mouth tannins and layers of spicy complexity. Finishing with lively acidity keeps this full throttle wine in balance. Reg: $14.99 Sale: $11.99

2009 Babich Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand)

Babich has been family owned since 1916, and without question, one of the premier producers of Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand. We find it consistently good vintage after vintage and the 2009 is no exception. This wine has a bouquet that is bursting with passion fruit, gooseberry and red current. The palate is a rich, sweet fruited and complex with layers of tropical fruits and gooseberry. The acid/fruit balance is excellent with a lovely herbal flinty character.

2009 Ponzi Pinot Gris (Oregon)

Speaking of pioneers the Ponzi’s were one of the pioneering families, in the 1960’s, to see the potential in Oregon for the “Pinot Family” of grapes. Now the second generation has taken over with Luisa Ponzi as the winemaker. This wine shows a floral nose with lime zest and green apple, flavors of ripe melon, clove and citrus finishing with a perfect play between sweetness and acidity. Reg: $16.99    Sale: $14.99

2008 Girard Russian River Chardonnay

Thirty years after planting their first vineyard Girard continues to produce outstanding wines under the direction of winemaker, Marco DiGiulio. Chardonnay grapes for this wine were sourced from Dutton Ranch. The French oak aging on this Chardonnay, offers up wonderful aromas of vanilla and créme brulée; blending in with these warm aromas are bright scents of tropical and citrus fruits. On the palate. Meyer lemon, peach and melon are balanced by a creamy texture from sur lie aging. Reg: $24.99       Sale: $19.99

2009 Alto Las Hormigas Malbec (Argentina)

It was mostly Italian immigrants to Argentina that started planting vineyards here in the early 1900’s. They found that the “lost Bordeaux varietal”, Malbec, responds very nicely to the climate and soils here. Altos is a relatively new winery owned by a group of Italian winemakers. It has a smoky, spicy, black cherry bouquet followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with surprising depth and savory fruit for its modest price. Fruit forward and easygoing it will provide much pleasurable drinking. Reg: $12.99             Sale: $9.99
